The last week in October proved to be 'Big Fish' week at Barn Elms Trout Fishery in Bradfield near Reading. It was also a good time for novices as first time novice Dylan Lawrence opened his account with a lovely Rainbow of 6lb. 6ozs. His first ever fish was made all the more pleasurable as it was caught on one his Dad's home tied Montanas. Paul, a member of Thames Valley FDG took this photograph as a memory of a great day at this picturesque venue.

Long-time Coarse angler Chris Maloney took the fish of the week with this fantastic 8lb. 12oz. beauty on only his second fly fishing outing coached by his buddy Ray Camburn. By the look on his face we have another convert to the noble art of casting a fly!

Darryll Witts a season ticket holder at Barn Elms took his best fish of the year on a visit to use up the remainder of his ticket. This specimen of 7lb. 2oz. took a gently retrieved Damsel Nymph one of the venues 'bankers'.
